Cookie policy

Roseo does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. It only sets technical cookies: the sign-in cookies of the optional account, once you sign in. The only exception is the anonymous recordings described below, which set cookies only if you say yes to the short question shown on the site.

What runs in your browser

Site statistics

We use Plausible Analytics to count visits. It works without cookies and without local storage, and it does not store your IP address, so it does not need your consent under EU rules. It gives us aggregated numbers (pages viewed, clicks, referring sites, country, device type), never a profile of you.

Sign-in cookies (only if you use an account)

When you sign in to save your trips, Roseo stores a session cookie so that you stay signed in (its name starts with sb- and ends with -auth-token; long sessions are split into several numbered parts). While you sign in with Facebook, a short-lived cookie ending in -code-verifier protects the sign-in from being hijacked. These cookies are strictly necessary for the account you asked for, so they do not require consent. They are deleted when you sign out and otherwise expire after 400 days at the latest. If you never sign in, they are never set.

Anonymous recordings (only if you say yes)

If you say yes to the question shown on the site, Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (scrolling, taps and clicks) so we can see where a page is unclear. Text you type is never recorded. Clarity then sets its own cookies (names starting with _clck and _clsk, kept for up to one year) under the Microsoft privacy statement, and your choice stays in your browser’s local storage (roseo_recording). If you say no, nothing is loaded from Clarity. You can change your mind at any time with “Anonymous recordings” at the bottom of every page.

Your preferences

If you pick a language from the suggestion at the top of the page or from the language menu at the bottom, the choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (roseo_lang_choice) so that the suggestion does not appear again. This is a preference you set yourself: it is not used to track you and does not require consent.

Technical storage

If you tap “Save this trip” before signing in, the trip is kept for a moment in your browser’s session storage (roseo_pending_trip) so that it can be saved as soon as you are signed in. It is removed straight away, and in any case when you close the tab. If you arrive through a link with a campaign tag (utm_…, for example from a Pinterest pin), that tag is kept in session storage (roseo_source) and added to the link when you open a partner site, so we can see which campaign led to the click. It is deleted when you close the tab. Nothing else is stored on your device.

Sign-in buttons

On the My trips page only, the “Sign in with Google” button is loaded from Google, which may read its own cookies to show your Google account, under Google’s cookie policy. The Facebook button is a plain link: nothing is loaded from Facebook until you click it. No other page of Roseo loads content from Google or Facebook.

Hotel map (only if you open it)

On place pages and in the trip planner, the map of nearby hotels is provided by Stay22 and loads only when you tap the button to open it. From then on Stay22 may set its own cookies, including to attribute a booking to Roseo, under its own policy. If you don’t open the map, nothing is loaded from Stay22.

Third-party sites

When you follow a link to a partner such as Booking.com, Omio (trains, buses and flights), GetYourGuide, Yesim (travel eSIM), Stay22, Welcome Pickups (airport transfers), Kiwitaxi (airport transfers), Localrent (car rental), you leave Roseo. Those sites set their own cookies, including the affiliate cookies that credit a booking to Roseo, under their own cookie policies. We have no access to those cookies and no control over them. See partner links for the full picture.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Browsing Roseo works the same without them, but you will not be able to stay signed in to save trips. Blocking cookies may also affect the partner sites you book on.

If this changes

If we ever introduce non-essential cookies or similar technologies (for example an analytics tool that requires consent, or an advertising pixel), we will add a consent banner and update this page before doing so. Questions: privacy@roseo.travel. Our privacy policy describes everything else we do with data.
