A real filming location. In Season 2 the first ball of the season, given by Lady Danbury (the sharp, wise widow who rules society), takes place in the Great Conservatory, the glass dome in the gardens, where Anthony and Kate first recognise each other in society. In Season 1 the Great Hall of the house was used for the London home of Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings.

In the gardens, stand at the far end of the lawn and frame the curved glass wings and the central dome of the Great Conservatory.
Getting there
- Address: Syon Park, Brentford TW8 8JF
- Transport
- Train to Syon Lane station, or bus to Brentford, then about 15 minutes on foot.
- Access
- Home of the Dukes of Northumberland. From March to October the house, the gardens and the Great Conservatory open from 10:30 to 15:30 on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and bank holidays, with a ticket; last entry at 14:30. On Mondays and Tuesdays the house is seen only on a guided tour, the last one at 14:00. The house is not accessible by wheelchair (stone steps up to the Great Hall and more stairs inside), and garden paths can be uneven. Hours can change for private events: check before you go.
