Harry Potter · Filming location

Durham Cathedral

In the story · Philosopher's Stone (film 1, 2001); Chamber of Secrets (film 2, 2002)

A real filming location. In the cloister, Harry lets his owl Hedwig fly off across the snowy courtyard in Philosopher's Stone. The cloister and some rooms of the cathedral are also Hogwarts corridors and classrooms in the first two films.
