Star Wars: Attack of the Clones · Filming location
Lars homestead (Chott el Djerid)
In the story · The Lars homestead on Tatooine (arrival and Shmi's funeral)
A real filming location: the outside of the Lars homestead, the white dome on the salt flat. Anakin and Padmé land here, C-3PO (the droid Anakin built as a boy) greets them, Anakin speeds off on a speeder bike to find his mother, and later the family buries Shmi. The dome has been rebuilt several times, most recently in 2022.
