Fleur du Lac (the Corleone compound on Lake Tahoe)

In the story · The Godfather Part II (the Corleone compound on Lake Tahoe)

In Part II Michael, now the boss, runs the family from a large estate on Lake Tahoe. The film opens there with the party for his son's First Communion; later killers fire into his bedroom, and on this lake his brother Fredo, who betrayed him, is killed in a fishing boat. A real filming location: Fleur du Lac, built in the 1930s for the industrialist Henry Kaiser, today a private gated estate of holiday homes.
