The Hangover · Filming location
Ancient City (Muang Boran)
In the story · The Hangover Part II (the monastery)
This huge open-air park of Thai buildings, 129 hectares south of Bangkok, plays the monastery where the friends look for a monk under a vow of silence. At the Phra Kaew Pavilion, stop 30 on the park map, Alan meditates with the head monk and remembers the night. The monastery itself is invented and its interiors were shot in a studio; the reception has a display about the filming.
