Métro Tuileries

Paris, je t'aime · Where the story is set

Métro Tuileries

In the story · Tuileries segment (1er), story setting; platform shot at Porte des Lilas–Cinéma

In the Coen brothers' segment Steve Buscemi's hapless tourist, fresh from the Louvre, waits on the Tuileries platform, breaks the guidebook rule about eye contact and pays for it. The platform scenes were shot on the disused Porte des Lilas 'Cinéma' set dressed as Tuileries, so the real line 1 station under the Rue de Rivoli arcades is the story's setting.

Where to stand for the photo

From the Tuileries garden railings across Rue de Rivoli, frame the station entrance beneath the arcades. The platform in the film was a set, so the real one looks different.
