About Louvre Museum

The Louvre was a royal palace before it became a museum in 1793. Today it is one of the largest art museums in the world, home to the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. The glass pyramid by the architect I. M. Pei has marked the main entrance since 1989. The museum is closed on Tuesdays, and booking a time slot online saves a long wait.
