Aurouze (rat-catcher's shop window)

Ratatouille · Real place that inspired the film

Aurouze (rat-catcher's shop window)

In the story · Django's warning: a real shop that appears in the film

On a stormy night Remy's father Django shows him a shop window full of dead rats hanging in traps: 'This is what happens when a rat gets a little too comfortable around humans.' Pixar drew it from this real pest-control shop, open since 1872, whose window of stuffed rats has startled passers-by for a century.

Where to stand for the photo

Stand on the opposite pavement and frame the whole green shopfront with the 'Destruction des animaux nuisibles' lettering; the rats are best seen with the window lit after dark.
